About Publication matters llc
Unfortunately, many healthcare practitioners making meaningful improvements in patient care have not been trained to
- perform such research or QI projects, or
- effectively write about the results of such projects.
Their learnings stay hidden in their own organizations, or even just within their own unit in a larger healthcare institution.
Many of those practitioners come from segments of the population who are underrepresented as authors in traditional academic and scholarly publications.
Many of those same practitioners are serving patient groups who are also marginalized or frequently ignored in mainstream research circles.
Those facts lead to huge gaps in the literature. Those are the gaps we want to help close.
Your work is important. Your practice improvements matter.
You deserve to get your work published.

our mission
To offer the best, most comprehensive instruction on essential writing skills and journal manuscript-writing skills so that healthcare practitioners at all levels of patient care and from all segments of the population have equal access to--and the proper training and confidence levels to engage in--the traditional modes of sharing evidence-based practice: publishing in peer-reviewed professional journals and presenting at professional conferences.
our vision
A world in which women, people of color, and people of non-binary gender are represented in academic and scientific research, publishing, and conference presenting in numbers that accurately reflect our/their numbers in society at large.
A world in which the work and words of women, people of color, and people of non-binary gender are given equal weight to the work and words of traditionally privileged white men.
A world in which the gender, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnic group, country of origin, or skin color of a study's or project's author or participant pool is not considered an independent measure of the work's quality.
