The Fundamentals of good writing

This spring, we're piloting a new workshop series called The Fundamentals of Good Writing.

Designed for all healthcare professionals who desire a better understanding of the ground rules of good writing, this course is first being piloted with a group with whom we work extensively: doctor of nursing practice (DNP) students and faculty.

The content of the workshop series includes:

• Sentence structure
  
• Subject-verb agreement
  
• Sentence fragments and run-on sentences
  
• Commas, semicolons, and colons
  
• Hyphens and dashes
  
• Apostrophes and quote marks
  
• Loads of examples for practicing each usage
